I have been a printmaker for most of my life. My dad made prints when I was a kid. I always liked relief prints and I make a few series of prints every year. I occasionally make etchings too. Prints are a fun and different way to work that is good way for me to change things up in the studio. Most of my prints are small. I really like for people to have original works of art and creating these are a cool way for people to have something handmade by me. There are so many digital reproductions of everything now. I really value hand made work and prints are a great way for me to make something that anyone can afford. I personally collect prints from artists for that same reason. I would rather have a hand made print than a print spit out by a machine. I love analogue handmade artwork. Also I only have so much wall space for paintings but I can have lots of albums of prints. I get archival books that I store most of my print collection in. A few I frame the rest I keep on the bookshelf. Some of my prints are artist trading card (ATC) size. They are the size of baseball cards. I’m into art not baseball but they can be stored in the same archival sleeves. ATCs are a thing, lots of artists make them.
